    Cindy Eller coaches women who are suffering with excess weight and knee pain to lose weight and inflammation so they can get back to their favorite sports and activities. After healing her own knee pain and inflammation and losing 30 pounds through healthy food and lifestyle choices, she now walks her dogs, hikes, plays pickleball and rides horses. She does all of this with her husband, 2 grown children, awesome friends, 3 dogs and 3 horses along the Kern River in Bakersfield, CA. She is now on a mission to share what she has learned on her journey with other women who feel the same and want the same.

    My Story

    At 43 years old, my daughter was off to college and my son had just gotten his driver’s license. It was MY time, finally. I decided to take up tennis to lose the 30 extra pounds I had carried around for the last ...well since my son was born. I couldn’t believe how much I loved tennis. I met a great group of women and I was back being active outside, I felt young again. I joined a tennis team and for a year I was having the time of my life, playing 5-6 times a week, for 3-4 hours at a time...I lost about 10 pounds, not as much as I expected, but it was something. Then at regional playoffs, I felt something happen to my knee. Injury...Oh NO!!! I couldn’t play for months, I couldn’t even walk the dog. I could only sit or lie down...I watched TV all day, ate comfort foods and gained more weight. No tennis and no tennis friends. I was isolated and depressed. I was also scared...maybe at this age I won’t ever fully heal. I finally consulted with one of the best orthopedic surgeons in town (the one all the tennis players go to). He confirmed I had torn cartilage and he recommended surgery. I saw him 2 more times. During my third appointment he said to me, “I can tell you’re not going to have the surgery (he was right, I was too scared), but you have got to stop gaining weight, every pound of body weight is 3 pounds of impact on your knee.” Whoa!!! That one sentence flipped a switch inside of me. There was something I could do. I was expecting the pain medication, physical therapy or surgeon to heal me. By this time I was back to carrying around 30 extra pounds...that’s 90 extra pounds of impact on my knees! Right then I chose to take my power back. I was going to do everything I could to lose weight and reduce the impact on my knees. Eventually I was successful.


    I learned A LOT along the way:


    1 - You can’t exercise away excess weight.

    2 - Diets don’t work. You hear this all the time...it’s true.

    3 - Symptoms tell you to stop doing something and cravings tell you to start doing something...In the past I tried to ignore or get rid of these all important signs from my body.

    4 - Question whether what everyone else is doing is actually what you should be doing. I learned to listen to my body instead of to other people.

    5 - Choice is Powerful… You can choose to suffer or you can choose to heal. When you make the choice to take your power back, your health, life and future is in your own hands.


    I’m now 55. I have been at my ideal weight for the past 11 years. I have no knee pain and I’ve never had surgery. I walk, hike, play pickleball and ride horses. I am in control of my health. I feel limitless. I’m excited about my future. I say YES to life. I have also found joy in sharing what I have learned with other women. Living your Best Life is a choice… YouChoose.           I decided to work with Cindy as my health coach because of her confidence in making me feel I could do it, even when I really didn’t think I could reach my goal due to how far I had to go. My goals were to establish a healthy eating lifestyle/routine; to plan ahead and prep for my meals for the week and to create an exercise routine that would fit my busy schedule so that I would be able to lose 30 lbs and feel good in my own skin. I am a 35 year old female. I stand about 5.6” When I first started the program I weighed 200 pounds. I suffered from inflammation of the body, knee pain, ankle pain, fatigue, trouble sleeping, anxiety and nosebleeds. I also had a lack of motivation. I was unhappy with the way I physically looked. But most importantly, I have returned to doing activities I had to stop doing, and now I feel more comfortable in my body. I can't wait to see what my continued weight loss and increased activity yields. I will be better able to care for others which brings me great joy. Thank you for all you do and for the magic ways of delivering messages that I have previously not been able to or ready to receive.           My name is Odeyca Garriquez, aka (OG) I am 46 years old. I have lost 30 pounds since April without even going to the gym. For many years I tried a different diet program, but I was never really committed 100% to it; due to health, personal issues and a very busy social lifestyle. I allowed this to set me back to the point that I became very inconsistent and I was not in control of my life. I realized I was the heaviest and the unhappiest I have ever been. I was so uncomfortable with my whole self. I had completely lost the balance of my life in general. I was lost. I was having constant abdominal issues, trouble sleeping, body aches, joint pain, inflammation, foggy thoughts and extreme irritability not to mention hormone imbalance, stress and excessive alcohol drinking and eating to mask all of the above. On several occasions Cindy talked to me about getting back on track, but I was not ready. I kept finding 1 million excuses. My whole self was just toxic, but I did not realize it. All of a sudden it just happened. On April 6, 2020, I was ready. I made the best decision that I could have for my body, mind and spirit. I was ready to meet with Cindy and start my route to 160. At the time I was 200 pounds. I started working with Cindy and what an amazing journey it has been. It was challenging in the beginning, but worth it every second of it. The way Cindy coaches, she tackles everything. Cindy is such a special human being. She is so gifted. She is beyond passionate about what she does.
